Thank you for publishing this very balanced and sincere account . . . if only it were so that this did not seem somehow remarkable. History is infected with propagandistic and self-serving discourse, but recent history especially so. I sensed very little in this. Perhaps it is rather euphemistic to refer to the USA imposing its political system on other (weaker) countries. In fact it is paving the way for US corporations to ravish and steal from those countries. If this had knock-on benefits for the average American one could understand if not condone this. But the only real beneficiaries are the already-enormously-wealthy (not excluding the comprador class in the newly 'democratised'). What a racket!
