Welcome to The Transnational and TFF on Substack - particularly to our many new subscribers. TFF is approaching its 40th anniversary - in September 2025 - and we’re in the process of collecting and digitalising research and other publications that were printed when published.
You will find some old and new ones in the left-hand column of The Transnational - Selected classical TFF peace research. There will be many more there over time. We feel it is part of the history of peace research and public education - and time to get it done.

Europe self-destructs in the name of "Security." Europe’s terminal irrelevance.
What used to be Yugoslavia is coming up again: Huge demos in Belgrade, breakdown tendencies in Bosnia-Hercegovina, the usual confrontations in Kosovo - all related to, or caused by, the West’s ruthless peace-prevention policies in the 1990s culminating in NATO’s illegal bombing in 1999 - that leaves no reason to blame Russia in Ukraine. Why not browse here and there in the largest-ever study on the dissolution conflicts and what should and could have been done if conflict illiteracy was not the dominating asset of the US and the EU/NATO? Here is “Yugoslavia - What Should Have Been Done?” (2014, about 2000 A4 pages equivalent).
With the incredibly primitive re-armament mantra of today’s EU, you may wonder whether the Union can spell the word ‘peace’ - beyond its Lisbon Treaty? It can’t, and Jan Oberg documented why that is so 19 years ago, “Does The European Union Promote Peace. Analysis, critique and alternatives.”
