The world desperately needs alternatives to militarism. It is un-intelligent/civilised/ethical to promote violence when constructive alternatives exist. Violence is a cancerous growth on society.

I think its equallty, or even more pertinent, to point out that profiteering from equipment, tools and infrastructure of warfare, is a huge money spinner. Not just weapons companies. Now every technology company and software company are in on this chase.
And so no one wants to see the moral and functional superiority and even cost superiority, of peaceful solutions and diplomacy. It's perverse.
