According to Swedish Television, SVT, former Social Democratic Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) wants Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán removed as EU President.
I would have thought that Olof Palme would have seen it as crucially important to talk to all sides and would, therefore, have an initiative similar to Orbán’s. With Palme’s brilliant intellect, he would have immediately realised that this is a NATO-Russia conflict being played out as a war on the territory of Ukraine - and that the key to peace lies not in war but in doing something creative and constructive about the underlying conflict itself.
But that Sweden and that leadership no longer exist. Today, Sweden - the new NATO puppet of the United States - is a country that takes orders from Brussels and Washington.
With 17 US military bases in Sweden, it is well documented that there is no capacity for independent thinking but only a mindless reduction of sovereignty and capacity to act - that is, a policy more loyal to foreign powers than to the interests of the Swedish people (which is why there is no public debate or referendum).
And that is also why any action other than war, rearmament and 'beating Russia' is condemned by Sweden.
Peace - peace through dialogue and problem-solving - is the only thing they do not want.
Should Orbán succeed in his peace mission, it would be a disaster for the US, NATO and the EU.
This fear underlies Magdalena Andersson's call today for Orbán - Hungary - to be removed as EU president.
NATO and its demented leadership do not want peace; they want to win over and weaken Russia and then have a cold or hot war with China to maintain their empire's dominance over the world - an outdated and demented idea when everyone can see that the West is going down and a multipolar, co-operative world is going up.
Of course, Magdalena Andersson is at least as much a militarist as conservative Prime Minister Kristersson. She brought Sweden into NATO with the anti-intellectual, populist argument that we love our Sweden, and it is best defended in NATO.
Like also more media, both she and the PM deliberately forget that Orban not only visited Russia and China but started in Kiev and ended in Washington.
Unfortunately, it is not least women and social democrats - such as Andersson, Mette Frederiksen in Denmark, the EU's Ursula von der Leyen, and the EU's future 'foreign minister' Kaja Kallas—who are driving the kakistocratic militarism of our dark times.
Towards disaster for us all.
Whatever else you think of him, Orbán has done the only right thing. But he is too much of an intellectual for some.
In response to Orban's peace efforts, Antony Blinken tweeted that peace cannot be negotiated without the participation of Ukraine. However, he and Ukraine, at their "peace summits", have not explained why they seem to believe it can be negotiated without the participation of Russia.
“Of course” is the phrase you can apply to just about every Green and Social Democratic Party in Europe - of course they want more war. Delusional
